My ideas, thoughts, and rants.
Who is Tim? For now, I guess the way I would describe myself is; I’m 44 years old, divorced and live in San Diego, California, with my two daughters – that mean the world to me.
I love to skateboard and I have a technical background with computers, and SEO/Marketing. Been dealing with addiction in one form or another (preferably multiple at the same time) since I was a teenager. But the last couple years have been profound for me and I’ve made a lot of life changes, in just about every aspect of my life.
I love life.
I recently realized my love for writing, so I thought I could channel my energy in this format for awhile. And It’s helpful to go back and read some of my old crazy thoughts too.
There’s a few other reasons I chose to start writing a journal/diary/blog or whatever you want to call it. I’ll try to explain them all here, and possibly throughout my posts as well.
I started writing a couple months ago – and was (and still am) writing in the notes app on my phone. Back then, I was going through some changes, and I had all these ideas buzzing through my head. After being tired of forgetting them or dismissing them, I decided to write them down.
I don’t recall…
My memory, at that time, was almost non-existent. I had to write down the ideas I was having, pretty much as they came up. Easiest way was to open notes and add another entry. Sometimes several times a day I’d be pulling out my notes app to get something down before I forgot. I needed an outlet for all the craziness that goes on in my head. I couldn’t write fast enough. In fact, I’ll still probably use this method – and then just transfer it onto the blog when I can.
Since then, my memory has gotten a little better. My mind a lot clearer. So I thought it better to be more organized about my writing; and maybe someone else can benefit from my experiences?
Another reason
I chose to put something online like this because I decided to stop using social media. I don’t like the way everyone uses it all the time. And there are a number of other important reasons I choose to avoid it. One being I no longer wanted my daughters to use social media… or the internet in general for that matter, until they are mature enough to use it sparingly and responsibly. I’ve yet to reach this maturity so I stay off it as well. Besides, it’s just a major time suck and I feel there’s better things to do with my time.
But dad, you’re on it all the time!
Also, I couldn’t very well tell them to not do something while I was doing it all along. That’s not sending a very clear message, especially considering how damaging it can be to young & impressionable minds. So I quit social media a month before I took my daughters phones and computers and iPads away. I basically turned off the internet. We are now (forced to be?) a family again and it is wonderful. I highly recommend it.
Compromise…
I still wanted an outlet to share my thoughts and ideas. And I didn’t like the idea of giving away all my ideas and content to another company. I figured a blog was a good compromise… for now.
Just a couple more things!
A few more things you should know about me: I love yoga. I’m learning to play the guitar. Meditation is teaching me so many things, it’s difficult to verbalize. I’m trying to be more mindful about our planet, our home, and embracing community. I believe all things are alive and deserve a chance to thrive in whatever shape or form that may come in.

Note about the format:
This is definitely a work in progress, so the format will most likely (gradually) change over time. If you have any suggestions, please send me a message here.
